Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

A yummy, creative opportunity to be a member of our farm!

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA is a partnership between a local farm and the community. Individuals or families purchase a “share” and are provided with weekly, fresh, seasonal produce grown at the farm .

Our CSA is a program in which members - individuals, families, or partners (friends, co-workers, neighbors) - receive both a weekly share of locally & sustainably grown produce AND the opportunity to glean hands-on experience in the field.


  • A family, individual, or group purchases a CSA share for the season, becoming a Member of the farm.

  • As a Member, you pick up your share of fresh, seasonal, local produce once a week (June-October).

  • Members volunteer in the field at least twice per season providing the necessary foundation for a growing community.


  • Vibrant, just-picked, nutritious produce

  • Seasonal eating

  • Support for local farmers and the local economy

  • Knowing where your food comes from

CSA MEMBERSHIP Includes . . .

  • A weekly share of the harvest (enough for two people who eat vegetables as a main course, or a family of four who use vegetables as side dishes) from June - October.

  • Free Access to Expressive Agriculture Events : when family, friends, and CSA members creatively and artfully enjoy the farm together.

  • Access to the Planting Fields’ trails, greenhouses, and natural spaces.


Membership Fee: $695. Membership fee non-refundable, non-transferable, but we welcome members to share with friends and family.

Pick-up Day: Fridays on the farm from 11am - 1pm.

Alternative pickups are in the works in Sea Cliff and Jericho @ The Cornell Cooperative Extension Friday afternoons.

Pickup may be available at the Port Washington Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings. Please inquire if interested.

Seasonal Schedule: share distribution begins Friday June 21, 2019 and ends Friday October 18, 2019. Dates subject to change as the season may start earlier and end later than we anticipate.

Orkestai Farm is deeply rooted in the belief that wholesome, local, and organically-grown produce should be available to everyone. Nevertheless, we acknowledge the many challenges that arise in translating this belief from theory to practice.
