Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
A yummy, creative opportunity to be a member of our farm!
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA is a partnership between a local farm and the community. Individuals or families purchase a “share” and are provided with weekly, fresh, seasonal produce grown at the farm .
Our CSA is a program in which members - individuals, families, or partners (friends, co-workers, neighbors) - receive both a weekly share of locally & sustainably grown produce AND the opportunity to glean hands-on experience in the field.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A family, individual, or group purchases a CSA share for the season, becoming a Member of the farm.
As a Member, you pick up your share of fresh, seasonal, local produce once a week (June-October).
Members volunteer in the field at least twice per season providing the necessary foundation for a growing community.
CSA BENEFITS :
Vibrant, just-picked, nutritious produce
Support for local farmers and the local economy
Knowing where your food comes from
CSA MEMBERSHIP Includes . . .
A weekly share of the harvest from June - October. We grow dozens of varieties of crops including heirloom lettuces, tomatoes, green beans, herbs and so much more you can’t find at the supermarket. And don’t worry, one perk of coming to the farm is that if you would prefer to not have a certain crop, you may able to exchange it for an item of equal or lesser value.
A full share is enough vegetables for two people who regularly eat vegetables as a main course or four people who eat them primarily as side dishes. A half-share is half this amount.
Access to Expressive Agriculture Events : when family, friends, and CSA members creatively and artfully enjoy the farm together.
Access to the Planting Fields’ trails, greenhouses, and natural spaces the day of the CSA pick-up.
